    Welcome

I have tried to reconstruct as historically correct as possible, the time my father spent in the military during WWII. Like many GI's, the sacrifice made to defend his country was more than first meets the eye. Time away from friends and family, especially his new bride, is something we may not all know about or appreciate fully. His time in battle was short but his sacrifice great. I hope that you can come away with a new appreciation for the men in uniform, especially a man I'm proud to call my father,

Pfc. Robert E. Ortman
